Brief Biography
Tom Wood was born on September 9th in 1956. He spent the first 11 months of his life in an adoption home. He was
adopted by Stewart and Betty Wood, and he lived with them in Sacramento, California until he was 19. He spent his
childhood playing with amateur radio, and received his Amateur Radio License at age 13, he enjoyed that hobby all
the way into adulthood. He was a very intelligent child and very technologically savvy. He graduated from Rio
Americana High School in 1974, in Sacramento. He received his AA degree from American River Junior
College/Marconi Technical School. He also took additional classes at San Francisco State and Chabot College.
He spent five years living in San Francisco when he met Betsy Wilson. He won a radio show contest and had won a
trip for two to Hawaii. When he arrived there he met Betsy on a tour van and began dating her after they left Hawaii.
They spent 2 ½ years dating before they got married on May 24th 1986.

Two years after they got married, Thomas Glenn Wood Jr. was born on May 20th 1988, he was a wild son, and hard
to keep track of but Tom and Betsy loved him enough to give another baby a try. Tom enjoyed teaching his son to
play catch and ride his bike. The trouble really started when Emily Elizabeth Wood was born on September 4th 1992.
Tom loved his daughter very much and she truly was daddy's little girl, he loved her so much that when she was shot
point blank with a nerf gun by her brother, he broke his gun in half over his knee. Tom enjoyed spending lots of time
with both of his kids, and they loved him just as much as he loved them.

Tom worked at PG & E for 10 years, and he had a fantastic time and loved his job, he met lifetime friends there, he
slowly moved up the latter until finally he changed employer's and began to work at Intel Corporation. He started out
as a technician at The Radio Shop and moved up to a network engineer before he died. He loved his job at Intel and
it fit him well. He met his best friends there and spent lots of his time with them and their families.
Both Tom's and Betsy's jobs caused them to move all over California, they started out in Walnut Creek for four
years then moved to Fresno in 1990, after that they moved to Granite Bay California in 1994 to raise their family.

Tom spent his job at Intel traveling all over the World, he had been to 4 continents and over 20 countries. He spent
a lot of time with coworkers in Malaysia and Costa Rica. He also traveled to Europe with his family in 2000, they
went to Disneyland Paris, rode the metro and went to Legoland Windsor. He loved traveling in general, but he
especially loved traveling with his family. He immensely enjoyed a seven day cruise to Alaska where he and his
family rode dog sleds, and in a helicopter. Tom lived a very full life in a very short amount of time.

Tom spent most of his life obese, and he had difficulty losing weight. He had a gastric bypass surgery in 2001 and
lost 150 pounds. This sudden weight loss led to a healthier and more athletic lifestyle. Tom picked up both running
and snowboarding as his activities. If you know Tom you know he always took things to the extremes so he didn't just
run, he ran 3 marathons, one of which was the Big Sur, and he didn't just snowboard, he bought a cabin in South Lake
Tahoe and went up there every weekend. And if you didn't think that was enough he moved himself and his family to
Park City Utah in 2004 for the "greatest snow on earth". Tom enjoyed snowboarding for the last 3 years of his life.
He picked up a part time job as a lift operator just for fun, he was living the life he always wanted, he lived his life
fast and to the fullest, which was a gift for sure.

Tom was known around his house as "Tech Support" because of his vast knowledge of computer and anything
technology related. Any problem could be solved by calling upon Tech Support, he loved his nickname and cherished
it. Tom was also very car savvy, he owned a countless number of cars including 4 BMW's, a Camero and several
others, he loved his cars just as much as he loved his technology, he was always up to date with the latest computer,
Ipod, etc. Tom also enjoyed coin collecting, he had hundreds of coins and he kept them very well maintained.

Tom died at the age of 50 in Park City, Utah due to advanced heart disease, which he nor his family knew about. His
death was a surprise, he was discovered by his then 14 year old daughter in his bed at 3:10 p.m., and he supposedly
died around 1:00 p.m. His family is still mourning his death and remembering what a great father and husband he
was. His wife and daughter currently are living back in Granite Bay, California and his son is attending The United
States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. His father lives in Lincoln, California. Tom's mother Betty Wood
died in July 2009 of lung cancer, they are now together and living in happiness.

Although Tom did many great things in his lifetime, his life cannot be measured by the places he worked, the people
he knew, or the countries he traveled. His life can only be measured by the true man he was, and he was a generous,
funny, caring, and strong person. Once he met someone, he brightened their lives, and when he died, every single life
he touched was filled with sorrow. Tom Wood is and will continue to be missed by hundreds of people who loved and
cared for him.
